About Mayberry Berk
Mayberry Berk is a California law firm. We represent consumers (people, not companies) in privacy and consumer-protection cases.
What we do
We take five kinds of cases for Californians:
- Robocalls and unwanted texts to your phone (the TCPA).
- Websites and businesses that record or track you without telling you (CIPA).
- Credit reports and background checks that get the facts wrong (FCRA and CCRAA).
- Debt collectors that won't leave you alone (the Rosenthal Act).
- California's lemon law, when a manufacturer won't honor its warranty (Song-Beverly).
How we work
Most of our cases work on contingency: you pay nothing unless we win or settle. Many of these laws also make the other side pay our fees if you win.
We use AI tools (heavily) for the work that doesn't need a lawyer's judgment: first-pass screening, drafting, checking citations. But every decision we share with you, and every paper we file in court, goes through a California-licensed attorney first. That isn't a marketing line; it's how the firm is set up to follow California's rules for lawyers.
The team
Founder name, California Bar No. [TBD]. Background: privacy/security-focused legal practice. [Replace with real bio when ready.]
What this site is for
We publish plain-English writing about how California consumer law actually works. Most legal blogs are written for other lawyers; ours is written for you, the person trying to figure out whether the calls you've been getting mean anything legally.
If you have a specific situation, the fastest route is CallCheck for unwanted robocalls or texts, or our contact form for everything else.
